After talking to my friends and by my experience also, I have realized that everybody knows all the theories about being happy, remain motivated and inspired. People would say that they have had enough of the theories, if you really want to help us then tell us something practically doable. Everybody wants to know simple and specific how-to-do steps.
I want to tell you my friends that there is no fixed methodology to do that. It depends on person to person. You will have to find out what works for you. Your way of doing will be as unique and special as you are. But the main thing and the foremost important step are to accept the fact from the depths of your heart that you really want to do it. The moment you say to yourself “yes, I want to understand all the said theories and work on them to improve my life”, you are good to go and this is the first step to it.
If you will keep standing where you already are and wait for a well laid plan to come for you then I don’t think it is going to happen ever in your life. Things do not turn up on their own. It is you who has to take the initiative to add some value in you.
Human being is that creation of God, which can develop its own ways to attain anything. If you think that you are not able to implement most of the good things in your life although you want to, then I am sorry to say that you do not have enough craving for it. You need to be hungry.
Let me explain with an example.
When you are in a new city and you know nothing about that place. But still, you are able to find hotels or restaurants to eat food and stay. It may take a little while but you will find everything.
How is that possible when you are new to that place?
You find ways to get what you want because you know it very clearly “what do you want” and “you are also hungry enough for it”.
Now we have come to two clear things. We need to ask these two questions to ourselves on regular basis:
- What do I really want?
- Am I hungry enough for that?
Answers to these questions will make your work easy and you will be able to design your own path. Self-introspection would help in finding these answers but the word “introspection” is an ocean in itself. Let’s make it simple.
Answer to the first question can be found by meditation only.
There can be various ways for each one of us to do it.
- Sit quiet for a substantial amount of time with your own self.
- Express gratitude towards God and all the people who have supported you in one way or another.
- Appreciate your own self for the good things you have done so far.
- Contemplate about the points of improvement.
- Think about what makes you happy, what kind of work do you enjoy the most and who are the people you get positive vibes from.
- Forgive people and seek forgiveness from the depths of your Heart.
- Find the meaning of happiness and love for you.
- Spend some time in nature on daily basis, be it your garden, park or any other place which can refresh you. Be with yourself in that moment. Enjoy your own company and try to listen to your own inner voice.
For the second question you need to motivate yourself by asking yourself “why do you want to do that in the very first place?” Ask yourself.
If you do not feel confident enough then gather knowledge from appropriate sources. Take help from the experts of that field, be it books or the person himself.
When you know what do you want and why do you want something then your mind and heart will come together to show you the path. You will understand how you can do it. You will make a plan which will be the best for you and only you.
No two persons are same Similarly, the ways adopted by any two persons can never be the same. You need to find your own way which will be customized for you and then you just need to follow that with courage, motivation and determination. Nobody else will do it for you. It is you who can do this.
Because it is you, who knows you.
